Taking great dog photos isn’t always easy, especially if you’ve got a really active pet.
That said, it doesn’t have to be an uphill battle. Here are some of the best tips and tricks to help you take the most amazing photos of your precious pooch.
Best Tips and Tricks to Take Dog Photos
- Take photos while they’re playing. Dogs are typically at their happiest when they’re playing. This is a great way to take happy shots without much effort. You do need to have a fast enough camera to be able to capture the action, though.
- Use natural light. Want to have the least hassle possible while taking dog photos? Natural light is key. Your camera will also thank you.
- Tire them out. Tired pooches are more likely to sit still without fussing. Consider taking a photo of your dog while they’re at rest.
- Give them toys and treats. Similarly, their favorite toys and treats can keep them still.
- Snap your finger. If you want your dog to look in your direction when taking the photo, you can simply snap your finger to catch their attention. It doesn’t work 100%, but it’s so simple it’s worth trying out anyway.
- Be very patient. Taking dog photos requires a lot of patience. Don’t worry if it doesn’t come out nicely at first – just keep at it and you’ll have your gorgeous shots in no time at all!
