Is watermelon good for dogs?
Watermelon is a really great treat for dogs. Here are some 🍉 benefits:
- High in moisture and fiber. Great for dog hydration, plus, fiber keeps them fuller for a longer period of time.
- Plenty of antioxidants. Antioxidants promote cell regrowth and healing. Dogs need this too, in order to stay healthy.
- Filled with vitamins and minerals. It has vitamin A, vitamin B6, and vitamin C, among many others. All these can help boost your dog’s health.
That said, there’s one important thing to keep in mind when feeding your dog watermelon: always remove the seeds first.
Seeds can cause harm to your dog, such as intestinal damage. Sadly, smaller dogs are more at risk for this.
For best results, cut up the watermelon first, remove the skin and the seeds, and give the sliced chunks to your dogs. Also, remember to feed in moderation!
