Did you know that eggs are some of the most abundant superfoods around? They’re very high in protein and other nutrients like vitamin A, folate, and selenium. They can also make you feel full for a longer period of time.
That said, are these yummy superfoods only good for humans, or can dogs eat eggs as well?
Can dogs eat eggs?
Eggs make a really fantastic snack for your canine companion. As mentioned above, they are very high in vitamins and minerals, as well as protein.
Before you go feed your dog a crateful of eggs, however, do keep in mind a few things:
- If you want to make sure you’re getting the most nutritious eggs, try to source from free-range farms that feed their hens an organic diet.
- Talk to your vet before giving eggs to your dog. Some dogs are allergic to them, while others may have underlying medical conditions that don’t allow them to eat eggs.
- Feed them eggs in moderation. Giving them too many eggs can cause them to gain weight and even become obese, so try not to go overboard.
